Tour Plan

Day 1: Singpaore Arrival – Singapore By Night (D)

Arrive at Changi Airport and be transferred to the hotel of choice in Singapore.

This evening, be picked up at 19:00 at the hotel with the guide and driver and transferred to Singapore River for an evening spent along the vital waterway of Singapore.

Cruise down the Singapore River in a traditional bumboat to see the legacy of Singapore's history. This is the best way to see the pivotal role the river played in Singapore's history as a port town. The cruise passes godowns and old shophouses, that now stands as a silent reminder of its humble past. Cruise past old colonial buildings contrasted with imposing modern skyscrapers. Guarding the river mouth see the majestic water-spouting Merlion - a mythological half-lion, half-fish creature a successful symbol of Singapore's tourism industry.

End the tour with a seafood dinner along the riverside. Savour an authentic dish of chili crab served with mantou (fried Chinese buns), a local favourite and a must-have in Singapore!

Choose to stay around the area to explore Singapore’s glittering nightlife or be transferred back to the hotel.

Overnight in Singapore.

This morning at 10:00 meet with the guide for a day of Michelin Guide street food discovery of Singapore’s popular hawker centres. First, go to Chinatown Food Complex.  A multi-storey wet and dry market that is popular among locals and foreigners.

Find a seat amidst the crowd and sip on kopi tarik or teh tarik the famous pulled coffee or tea and thick kaya toast. A typical everyday breakfast for the locals. While learning about hawker culture in Singapore, work up an appetite for the rest of the day and have a taste of a famous local snack, popiah and kueh pie tee. Hand-made fresh daily, interact with the local stall owners and watch how they skillfully wrap up these fresh vegetable rolls.

Next, walk past the famous Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and towards the Singapore City Gallery. This unique gallery, part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, tells the story of the city’s physical transformation. Learn all about Singapore’s rapid evolution here and why the country’s successful urban planning efforts dub it a city of the future.

Then take a short walk up Ann Siang Hill through Ann Siang Hill Park and arrive at Amoy Street Food Centre. A slightly more modest food centre situated among office buildings. Stop here for a taste of  J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff. It might not look like much at first glance, but the humble curry puff is a ubiquitous Malay snack that can be counted on to always hit the spot. The thin flaky pastry usually encases a generous filling of curried potatoes or sardine fish, complete with a hard-boiled egg. Refresh with a taste of sugarcane juice or soya bean milk.

Next walk over to Telok Ayer MRT station for a short train ride to Little India - the heartland of the Indian communities. On the way, pass by Singapore’s oldest Chinese Temple, Thian Hock Keng Temple and learn a little about the history.

Arrive at Little India where the many colours and scents welcomes one. Try out the Bismillah Briyani – famous for their Dum Briyani and other authentic Indian cuisine. Complete the culinary experience with a typical sweet pistachio dessert.

Choose to stay around the area to explore or return to the hotel.

Overnight in Singapore.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and some free time before receiving a transfer to the airport for an onward flight.
