LuxGroup launches the project “Donation Water Tanks to Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang” in early June 2024.  Lux Travel DMC and Lux Cruises  join the project as members of LuxGroup

Ha Giang, one of the most beautiful and majestic regions in Vietnam, is famous for its towering rocky mountains and deep valleys. However, life for the residents here remains very challenging, especially with the issue of clean water scarcity.

1. A family in Ha Giang is struggling to get water

In the mountainous communes of Ha Giang, clean water is still a “luxury.” Every day, residents spend 3-4 hours climbing hills to carry water home, each time bringing only a few 20-liter cans. If they had water tanks, they could collect rainwater for use, reducing the daily effort needed to fetch water, and instead focus on production and economic development. The dry season, lasting from September to April, is particularly strenuous for the residents as they struggle to carry water. Recognizing these challenges, LuxGroup has decided to initiate the project “Donating Water Tanks to the Rocky Plateau Residents,” aiming to provide clean water storage devices and improve the quality of life for the local people. Lux Travel DMC, a proud member of LuxGroup, is joining this charitable initiative. Known for its dedication to sustainable and responsible tourism, Lux Travel DMC is committed to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. By collaborating on this project, Lux Travel DMC helps ensure that the residents of Ha Giang have access to clean water, enhancing their well-being and supporting their daily lives.

2. Water Tank Donation Project: Bringing Life to the Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang

LuxGroup Team will plan to travel to Ha Giang from the 13th to the 16th of June, 2024. They will organize a charity trip to Sa Phin Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang. The project’s goal is to donate water tanks to 31 households, comprising 144 residents in Sa Phin. Each 1200L stainless steel tank, valued at 1,870,000 VND (about 70 US$), is not only a material gift but also a beacon of hope, enabling residents to store clean water, and giving them more time and resources to cultivate, produce, and improve their lives.

Currently, the LuxGroup Team has raised funds for 25 water tanks along with several other support packages. However, this number still needs to meet the residents’ needs. They hope to receive more support from benefactors to provide more tanks, thereby easing the burden on the people.

LuxGroup Team will coordinate with Ha Giang Tre team to have a volunteer trip to join hands to implement the “Water Tank Project for Ethnic Minorities in Ha Giang”.

3. Sharing Is Happiness: Each Water Tank Makes a Difference

Each donated water tank is more than just a material gift; it is a significant source of encouragement. It will ensure that children no longer have to carry heavy water containers daily and that the residents of the rocky plateau won’t have to spend their days hauling water. This way, they can focus more on production and improving their lives. Storing clean water not only ensures health but also saves time and effort, allowing people more time to care for their families and develop their economy.
