Located approximately four hours from Hanoi, Pu Luong is renowned for its breathtaking rice terraces, traditional Thai ethnic villages, bamboo forests, mountain landscapes, and peaceful rural atmosphere. Unlike more commercialized trekking destinations, Pu Luong offers travelers a quieter, softer, and more immersive connection with nature and local culture. The best time for trekking in Pu Luong is from May to June and from September to October, when the rice terraces are at their most beautiful and vibrant. During these seasons, travelers can enjoy cooler weather, lush green landscapes, or golden rice fields stretching across the valleys and mountains.
For the best trekking experience, comfortable walking shoes, light clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle are highly recommended. During the trip, the team explored the Don – Uoi – Lan trekking route, one of the most beautiful and culturally rich trails in the region. The trek covers approximately 7–8 kilometers with a moderate difficulty level, passing through stunning rice terraces, hillside trails, local stilt houses, bamboo groves, streams, and remote villages.
