Yen Bai, November 24, 2024 – LuxGroup Foundation, in collaboration with Green Dream, organized a tree-planting event in Vang Ngan Village, Suoi Quyen Commune, Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province. Over 2,000 trees were planted during the event, with active participation from the Van Chan District Propaganda and Training Department, Suoi Quyen Youth Union, and 100 local residents. This meaningful initiative aims to restore ecosystems, combat climate change, and raise public awareness about the importance of environmental protection.
During the event, more than 1,500 Lat Hoa and 500 Cho Chi trees were planted in the Suoi Quyen upstream forest area. These are valuable native species that not only hold significant economic value but also contribute to improving forest cover, soil protection, and water conservation. The activity is part of LuxGroup Foundation’s sustainable development campaign, focusing on carbon offsetting, natural resource protection after natural disasters, and enhancing community living environments.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Trinh Xuan Thanh, Head of the Propaganda and Training Department of Van Chan District, stated:
“Forests are the most critical resource for our community. The planting of 2,000 Chukrasia tabularis and Parashorea chinensis trees carries profound meaning. I sincerely thank LuxGroup Foundation and Green Dream for their efforts in bringing back the green to our barren hills.”
Representing the organizers, Mr. Pham Ha, Chairman and CEO of LuxGroup, shared:
“We believe that protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development is everyone’s responsibility. This event not only expands our green forest areas but also offers an opportunity for the community to come together and take action for a brighter future.”
Mr. Dang Kim Ly, Chairman of Suoi Quyen Commune People’s Committee, also emphasized:
“The collaboration between LuxGroup Foundation, Green Dream, and local organizations sets the stage for many other meaningful initiatives, bringing tangible benefits to both the people and the environment.”
Active Community Participation
One highlight of the event was the enthusiastic participation of the local community. Over 100 residents from Suoi Quyen commune, including elders and children, joined forces with the organizing team to plant trees. This activity was more than a simple event; it became an opportunity to foster community spirit and spread environmental awareness.
Mr. Vu Dinh Truong, Chief of the Van Chan District Forest Protection Department, provided detailed guidance on proper planting and care techniques to ensure the young trees develop sustainably. Following the event, Vang Ngan Village will take responsibility for nurturing the newly planted trees, ensuring their long-term growth and survival.
A Commitment to Sustainable Development
This event represents not just a local effort but also LuxGroup Foundation’s long-term commitment to working alongside nature and communities. Amid growing global climate change threats, initiatives like reforestation and environmental protection are more critical than ever.
Tree planting is not merely a solitary action but a step toward creating sustainable ecosystems, retaining soil, conserving water, and improving air quality. Increasing forest cover also stabilizes the climate and mitigates the effects of flooding and soil erosion—pressing issues affecting mountain communities like Van Chan.
