Other places besides Halong Bay where you can do kayaking on your holiday to Vietnam
It is no doubt that Halong Bay is a perfect place for kayaking. The water is calm and the landscape is beautiful. Halong Bay, one of seven new World Wonders, is the must-seen places for everyone who travel to Vietnam for the first time or not. Besides taking overnight on board for one or two nights during your Halong bay tours, kayaking though the karts is popular activity. However, there are some other places where you can try to do the same thing on your holiday to Vietnam.
Ba Be Lake
Located in the Nam Mau commune, Bac Can province, it is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. It lies in the middle of the vast limestone mountain range and is surrounded by the cliffs. Kayaking on the winding river, through the connected lakes, you will discover the hidden beauty of the natural heaven. Along the journey, you also have chance to visit local communities and learn more about their traditions, rural lifestyle and local daily life.
Pu Luong
For many travelers, Pu Luong is a strange name. That’s right. It is still undiscovered place in the Northern Vietnam. Pu luong is located in Thanh Hoa Province. It takes about 5 hours going by bus from Hanoi through Mai Chau to this place. Pu Luong is called “the microcosm of Northern Vietnam” with the immense terraced rice fields, ethic tribe villages, giant mountain ranges…When traveling to Vietnam, besides kayaking, you will also take part in other activities such as rafting, trekking or cycling.
Hoi An
Compared to Pu Luong, Hoi An is a famous destination in your holiday to Vietnam. It is ancient, peaceful, delightful and charming. Thinking of Hoi An, you will think of the colorful lanterns, romantic peaceful nights, the antiquated Japanese bridge and the delicious foods. Kayaking may be not in your mind. However, it is really worth trying. You can choose between a recreational kayak and a Canadian-style canoe for your tours. For your journey along Thu Bon river, it takes about 2 hours, 5 hours or 8 hours that depend on your time. Leaving the city behind, you will watch the day begin and end on the river, see the local people fishing and enjoy the scenic views.
