A discovery to the Indochina destinations with Laos tour packages that are something a bit different, the reason is because the country is unique in terms of exploration. Laos is a landlocked country, simply without any coastline unlike its neighboring Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam, however, thanks to the tourism infrastructure that has been boost since the last decade as it welcomes all type of tourists with different traveling style, and one could expect a leisure holiday like spending few days on a luxury Mekong river cruise tours to explore its tranquil beauty on the biggest delta in Asia, the others have shown interest on spending a quality vacation in Luang Prabang and combine it with Vientiane and perhaps visiting the northern tribes that are living in a remote area close to the borders with china and Myanmar while for intensive experience on Laos travel and tour packages other may include a few more days to visit Laos and Vietnam together, however, the best possible experience for travelers with special interest and a bit of luxury taste will be to start in Luang Prabang and end in Saigon, in southern Vietnam, in this road, they will be traveling from Luang Prabang, experience Mekong Delta on a luxury boat then flight to Hanoi and visit Halong bay on a cruise and flight to Saigon and of course in between they experience unlimited attraction.
Often we read on travel forums such as LonelyPlanet and or TripAdvosor different advices on itineraries for travel to Laos and Cambodia in 15 days, or Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in 20 days. I just want to say that Laos is an amazing country with plenty of unique attraction and sites to see and well worth a trip for sure. As for safety says that it is the safest Southeast Asian country (almost all destinations are), which is a super-easy country to travel, roads are not as good as what you see in Europe, but good for road traveling at all, ATMs are dotted around the Vientiane and Luang Prabang though I advice to bring cash if you are visiting the remote area, there are good hotels with quality services that make you feel at home.
Laos tour packages: What to prepare before traveling?
Vaccination: visit your local clinic and speak to a doctor that you are going to travel in a tropical country, some vaccination are essential especially if you are traveling to the remote area.
Laos Tourist Visa: This is required for anyone who is traveling to Laos, a 30 day single entry tourist visa is available at any land borders as well as the International airports, the stamping fee is US $35 for most of the nationalities.
Travel budget: This is pretty mush depend on your traveling style, if you are a back-packer and traveling on a shoe-string you could expect a budget of daily $30 including your accommodation while if you are a mid range option travelers you could of expect something between 60 to 80 $ staying in 3 to 4 star hotels, Laos also offer luxury options for travelers with special interest, there are luxury resorts, cruising options and much more in terms making a Laos tours
Travel insurance: Like vaccination, some travelers prefer to travel to the country without insurance, but to be honest; this is a very essential factor as you never know what will be happening to you while you traveling on the road, of anywhere, so, buy your own travel insurance and explore with a better confident.
Language barrier: Lao people speak the form of Thai language with a bit of differences in the dialect when in conversations; it is very comfortable if you try to learn a bit of the essential phrases especially if you are traveling on your own.
Flight to Laos: There is no direct flight to Laos from Australia, USA, the best and most reasonable flights are via Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, try to book well in a head of time to get the best deals, if you travel only to Laos, then my suggestion is to flight in to Vientiane and out from Luang Prabang or vice versa

Guide to plan your Laos tour Packages
Those who follow me in this article already know that Southeast Asia is an area that fascinates me and my Travel to Laos back in love with the country as authentic as simple and rural it is. My experiences have been there forever etched in my memory and has been one of the most memorable trips I’ve done. Following are some of the recommended places that must be include into your Laos tour packages
Si Phan Don: Also known as the 4000 Island, located in southern Laos and today I’ll give you ideas on where to stay or what you can see and to do in the two main islands, the Don Det and Don Khon which are the bordering islands with Cambodia, to getting there you must plan to go on an organized tour to book all your accommodation, boat trip and so on
See Irrawaddy dolphins. One of the attractions and the reason that many people come to Southern Laos is to see the Irrawaddy dolphin, a curious endangered dolphin (fewer than one hundred in the Mekong Delta) usually live in coastal areas close to river. To see Irrawaddy Dolphins you must take a morning tour from Don Khon and the best time to visit the Dolphins are in a dry season from December to May.
Vientiane: The tranquil capital of Laos and a laid back town for a few days stay, there are several glazed temples and Pagodas in the city that worth a visit, there are also some options for day trips off to Buddha Park and to the country side if you are a fan of cycling, for the nights, I recommend you to enjoy your time on one of the cafes and restaurant at the bank side of the Mekong river.
Luang Prabang: After spending a few days of journey through the wonderful, hypnotic Mekong River, you might be arrived at your next destination, the religious city of Luang Prabang in the north of Laos and one of the main tourist destinations in Laos and perhaps whole Indochina. Not surprisingly, it was the capital of the kingdom of a million elephants until 1545 and today keeps such mysticism that all travelers passing through it is hopelessly in love with its relaxed atmosphere.
Huay Xai: This little town that is on the edge of the country with border with Thailand, is an ideal to feel the true character of northern tribal peoples of Laos who living near the mountains and enjoy the surroundings, I recommend to make a plan to this city if you are crossing the borders with Thailand.
Trip to Laos and Cambodia: Preservation and Planning?
It is a good idea to combine your Laos tours with a few days trip to Cambodia, both countries are heavily attracted by tourists since few decades ago and traveling to each country could totally be a different experience. Try to flight in Phnom Penh and spend a few days exploring the beautiful attractions, then move north to Siem Reap to discover the Angkor Wat Temples and other interested site such as floating villages in Tonle Lake, however, there are some other interesting places in between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh such as Battambang and Compong Thom that should not be missed if you are a fan of traveling off the beaten track.
