A major development this year is the launch of the new direct Hanoi–Amsterdam route operated by Vietnam Airlines, using Airbus A350 aircraft with approximately three weekly frequencies. The service enhances connectivity between Vietnam and key markets across the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Northern Europe, while also improving access to Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and northern Vietnam’s cultural destinations.
In addition, Vietjet Air has announced a new long-haul route between Hanoi and Prague, marking a strategic expansion into Central and Eastern Europe. The route is expected to support both leisure travel and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) demand, particularly from the Czech Republic and neighboring markets.

NEW: Digital Pre-Arrival Information (PAI) System
Vietnam has introduced the Pre-Arrival Information (PAI) System as part of its digital transformation of immigration procedures. The system enables international travelers to submit required travel information online before departure and receive a QR code for faster processing upon arrival, improving efficiency at immigration checkpoints.
The PAI System is currently being implemented at Vietnam’s three main international gateways: Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi – HAN), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City – SGN), and Da Nang International Airport (DAD).
Although not a visa application tool, it helps reduce waiting times and enhances arrival convenience, particularly during peak travel periods.
