When The Reverie Saigon opened its doors earlier this month in Ho Chi Minh City, it became one of Vietnam’s most luxurious hotels. It is located in downtown, at the centre of District 1, the financial and commercial hub of the city.

It is a luxury of the unabashed kind – the interior design of the hotel was commissioned to some of Italy’s leading design houses, including Colombostile, Giorgetti, Visionnaire, Poltrona Frau and Cassina, and references Old World colonial aristocracy, rather than modern-day Asian style.

Our reviewer described it as ““Versace meets Liberace”, and pointed out that the hotel is “unapologetic about its aim to be the most expensive accommodation in the city, the hotel’s layer upon layer of opulence will thrill some and repel others.”

The 12 different categories of rooms, which are among the most spacious in the city, are equally lavish: expect leather divans, Italian silk on walls and Frette linens in rooms.
