1. What is Carbon Offset?

Carbon offsetting is the practice of compensating for the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced by travel and other activities by investing in projects that reduce or capture an equivalent amount of CO2. This allows individuals and companies to neutralize their environmental impact, contributing to the fight against climate change. When you travel, your flights, transportation, and other activities contribute to carbon emissions. By choosing to offset these emissions, you can take responsibility for the environmental impact of your journey.

2. Why do we offset Carbon?

Lux Travel DMC is committed to sustainability and minimizing the environmental footprint of tourism. We understand that travel can contribute significantly to global emissions, and carbon offsetting is one of the best ways to make a positive impact.

By implementing a carbon offset program, we aim to:

• Reduce the environmental impact of our services.

• Support sustainable projects that help communities and the planet.
• Encourage travelers to adopt more eco-conscious behaviors.

We believe in giving our customers the possibility to make a positive environmental difference, allowing them to enjoy their journeys knowing that they are supporting meaningful environmental projects.

3. How much do you have to pay for Carbon Offset?

Carbon Offset Fee is applied to all tour activities, flight ticketing services and transportation services run by Lux Travel DMC for customers, partners, and staff. All travelers must pay US$ 1.50 per person for the Carbon Offset fee; even though it is not included in our service quotation.

• Exemptions: Carbon Offset Fee will be waived to customers who take part in  our “low carbon tours” as Lux Travel DMC will cover it.

4. How does Carbon Offset work for our services?

For each booking, Lux Travel DMC will calculate the carbon emissions associated with flights, transport, and tourist activities. A carbon offset fee will be counted to the total cost of the trip, which will be used to fund verified carbon offset projects. These projects might include:

• Reforestation and afforestation: Planting trees that absorb CO2 from the atmosphere.
• Renewable energy projects: Supporting the development of wind, solar, and other clean energy sources.
• Community-based sustainability programs: Initiatives that help communities transition to sustainable practices, reduce emissions, and increase resilience to climate change.

5. What do we do with Carbon Offset fees?

The carbon offset fees collected will be directed toward certified projects that ensure the reduction or capture of CO2 emissions equivalent to those generated by our customers' travel.

We collaborate with trusted environmental organizations to ensure that the funds are used effectively and transparently.

Each year, we will provide a report detailing the projects funded and the amount of CO2 offset, offering our customers full transparency about the environmental impact of their contributions.
