Choose from nearly 60 tourist attractions to enjoy at your own pace within a half day. With our city sightseeing tour, you will discover the key landmarks and a part of the history of Ho Chi Minh City – An oasis in hustle and bustle.
Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is a fascinating combination of old and new, as well as of uniquely Asian styles and classical French architecture.
From our sightseeing bus, you can easily see many older tree-lined streets cherished with a vaguely French atmosphere which contrasts with the city’s future sides of the high rise buildings and modern office blocks.
The circular tour will take you to Ho Chi Minh City’s heart, to go over the bustling streets where many shops, stalls, and vendors spread out with their wares, and to admire the magnificent beauty of luxury hotels and distinctive French Architecture. Here are the details of the half-day trip around Hcm City:
Start with the bustling Ben Thanh Market
Since it was formally established by French colonial powers in the early 17th Century, the bustling Ben Thanh Market has been a fantastic place for bargains of every kind! Centrally located, Ben Thanh and its surrounding streets comprise one of Saigon’s liveliest areas. Everything that’s commonly eaten, worn or used by the Saigonese is piled high, and souvenir items can be found in equal abundance.
Enrich your knowledge with a visit to the War Remnants Museum
Ho Chi Minh War Museum reflects on the war between America and Vietnam. There are immaculately preserved tanks, planes and other war machines in the grounds, but the really hard-hitting information is found inside. In addition, this museum houses a wealth of photographs, exhibits, and written documentation recording and showing the horrific realities of the American War. One of the most impressive exhibition is the “Requiem” coming to Vietnam as a present of the Kentucky People in the spirit of HOPE, HEALING, & HISTORY.
Explore The Reunification Palace
This Palace has played its part in some incredible historic scenes as it’s the place where the North Vietnamese claimed victory in the American War. The Reunification Palace has essentially been frozen in time since a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through the front gates, and brought the U.S.-Vietnam War to a dramatic end. Visiting here, you will discover the secret rooms, grand reception halls together with the command bunker where General Ngo Dinh Diem conducted his war strategies.
Discover Notre Dame Cathedral
Close to the Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the best examples of French colonial architecture. This cathedral was built between 1877 and 1883, and the stones used to create it were exported in its entirety from France. The highlights of Notre Dame Cathedral are the all-red brick façade, stained glass windows, and two bell towers with six bronze bells.
The next stop is the Central Post Office
Like Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office represents strongly the features of French Architecture. Designed by Alfred Foulhoux, the post office boasts arched windows and wooden shutters, which reminds the visitors of the life of Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire.
In the afternoon, you can opt out for going shopping, enjoying a sunset drink at a rooftop bar, or having dinner on a cruise on the Saigon River.
